How It Works

Let’s Rock the Books and read 40 million minutes!

Get started

Register and start logging your time June 1.  All you need to get started is a valid e-mail address.

Family/Group Registration

Sign up with one e-mail to log minutes as a family or group. Once you're registered, you can add family members as "readers" without requiring additional e-mail addresses.

Log Minutes

Log your reading time online any time, at your convenience. You can log every day or enter your totals for a period of time. Either way, you'll have a running total to track progress toward your reading goals.

Logging Time for Babies and Toddlers

Read, sing, laugh, write, play, and talk. Track your activities by checking a circle on your tracking sheet. Log your activities online to get prizes!

Prizes

Pick up a prize when you register, another when you’re halfway there, and a final prize when you reach your goal. Pick up prizes at your library while supplies last. More prize information.

Recommended Personal Reading Goals

  • Babies and toddlers: Complete 32 easy early-childhood education activities

  • Kids: Read for 8 hours

  • Teens and Adults: Read for 16 hours

Any kind of reading counts, including listening to a story or audio book!

Pet Power

We’re upping our countywide challenge to read a collective 40 million minutes this summer. If we hit this goal, Jefferson County Library Foundation will award Foothills Animal Shelter $500 to help fund their invaluable services and programs.
